Da Ji (Herba Cirsii Japonici) and Xiao Ji (Herba Cirsii) are interchangeably used in Hong Kong. For Da Ji, both aerial part and roots are used simultaneously. These two herbs are listed separately in the C.P. and differentiation should be made during application. However, according to the literature, the functions of these herbs are the same.
