The commercial product of Zhi Bai Fu Zi (Rhizoma Typhonii) is called “Yu
Bai Fu” (禹白附) and Bai Fu Pian (Radix Aconiti Lateralis Praeparata) is one
of the processed products of Aconitum carmichaeli Debx. These two species
are easily mixed up because of their similar common names in Chinese.
The crude drugs of the two species are listed in Hong Kong as Schedule I
(Toxic/Potent) Chinese Materia Medica, and the processed products are
listed under Schedule II.
